Arlene’s Corner Bar

Built from birch plywood with black walnut veneer, this corner bar serves both as a morning coffee station as well as an evening bar. The shape of the cabinetry was dictated by a 45 degree outside corner on the wall and the need to incorporate a built-in microwave. The upper cabinet was built as one unit to maximize storage and keep everything accessible when in use. The upper shaker style doors are mitered around the cabinet box, and the water glass shows off some of the contents even when everything is closed. We lined the interior of the cabinet in black laminate to keep with the dark tones of the surrounding areas of the home. This project shows the versatility of birch cabinetry, especially in unique spaces.
